Booking

Simple pricing. Real care.

Thrive is a cash-pay practice. That means no insurance middleman, no surprise bills, and every minute of your visit spent on you.

Driven by declining insurance reimbursements, rising deductibles, and burnout from heavy administrative burdens, the cash-pay model is shifting from a niche alternative to a mainstream industry standard — one that lets therapists prioritize direct patient care.

Schedule online

Book your visit through our shared studio.

Dr. Chang practices independently inside the collective at Pacific NW Beauty Bar in downtown Tacoma. Appointments run through the studio's shared scheduling system — your visit is still one-on-one with Dr. Chang, start to finish.

A dedicated Thrive booking page is coming soon.

  • Cash
    Old-fashioned, still works.

    Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover.
  • Superbill provided
    For out-of-network reimbursement.
FAQ

Common questions.

Why cash-only?
"Cash-only" actually just means no insurance! By bypassing insurance companies, we eliminate claim denials, reduce documentation time, and can offer 60-minute, one-on-one sessions instead of the high-volume, "double-booked" model. You get a full hour, a plan built for your life, and no surprise bills — ever.  See "how to pay" for payment options.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Physical therapy is a qualified medical expense, so you can pay with your HSA or FSA card at the time of visit. We'll provide any documentation you need.
Will my insurance reimburse me?
Many PPO plans offer out-of-network reimbursement. We'll provide a detailed superbill after each visit that you can submit to your insurer. We can't guarantee reimbursement — it depends on your plan.
Why do I need to put down a deposit for my appointment?
Requiring a non-refundable deposit at booking ensures that your session time and date is reserved just for you and sets an expectation that both parties are committed to that time!
What is your rescheduling or cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 48 hours in advance. This allows us to offer another patient treatment during that time as needed. If you are unable to provide 48 hour notice, there is a one-time deposit transfer that allows you to transfer your deposit to the rescheduled date and time without forfeiting it. This can be done once every 6 months of treatment. If you have already used your deposit transfer during that time and need to cancel, your session deposit will be forfeited.
Do I need a referral?
No. Washington State has direct access, so you can see a PT without a physician referral.
How many visits will I need?
It depends, but most people we see are between 4 and 10 visits. You will be given you an honest estimate after your evaluation.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. If we're doing dry needling treatment it helps to have shorts or a tank top if needed to access the area. We have extras at the at studio if you ever forget.
